1 Day Re-do Blue Master Bedroom

We moved to San Diego in December and it has taken me this long to convince my hubby to paint our STARK white walls in the master bedroom.  Here is the before shot:

Ridiculously white isn't it?  He was perfectly happy with this?  I can't imagine how!

Yes, that is still a box in our closet lol.  I realize I've had a ton of time to unpack but I just don't feel like it!  You should see the disaster garage...perhaps not!

So we finally decided on a color and while he was on duty I hurried and got the paint before he had a chance to change his mind!  Isn't it pretty?

Check out the finished product!!  I LOVE it!!  And so does my hubby!!  He came home after work yesterday and we got it all done in one day!  A little ambitious but I didn't want to have to live in transition...did I mention I have a 2 year old??

I also got a fantastic manicure in the process! ;) haha

I am so in love with our room!

Little advice: spend the extra money on the frog tape.  It's bright green and has paint lock technology or something to that effect.  Whatever it is...fantastic job!  This is the entry to our bathroom where we used the tape.
Here is the ceiling where we also used the tape! Perfect lines! This has never happened before!  I ALWAYS get paint where it's not supposed to be!

Hope you enjoyed the before and afters of our master bedroom!  Now I just have to convince him to paint Monkey's room.  The only other white room in the house!

Easter Snacks

These little snacks are SO easy and pretty darn cute I think! I laid out a piece of wax paper and placed the pretzels down.  In the meantime I put almond bark (in the baking section next to the chocolate chips...it's less expensive than white chocolate chips).  Heat up the almond bark in the microwave 30 seconds at a time until liquid. Spoon out globs of the almond bark in between the two pretzels and press in a yellow M&M.  Wait for them to cool (or in my case because I'm impatient I place my wax paper on cookie sheets and throw them in the freezer).

Looks like fried eggs and bacon to me! :)

Strawberry Knit Hat

Can I just say that I seriously have the best customers EVER?  I made this knit hat (one of my, now, most popular hats next to the strawberry cupcake!) and I mentioned I would love to see a picture of her daughter in the hat.  Never, in my dreams did I imagine these amazing pictures in my inbox!!  Her family member is a photographer and takes some amazing photos!  You can find Janelle Marie Photography here to take a look at some of her amazing work!

What a doll baby!  I do love this hat on her!

If you would like to get one of your own please contact me by email jackie_jones_68 at yahoo dot com or on my Etsy shop!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Knit Teddy Bear and Cocoon

My friend Molly and I arranged a barter (if anybody out there has a skill or talent you should totally do this!!) my end of the bargain was to knit her a teddy bear hat and cocoon.  She used it that very weekend for this adorable shot!

Isn't this little boy adorable!?

You can certainly tell who is the professional with the camera lol.  Here is my photo of the hat and cocoon.

If anyone is in Orange County, California and needs a photographer you can contact Molly aMollyAnnPhotography@Gmail.com
I love how the pictures turned out!! :)

If you would like to see more knits from my shop please check it out HERE or email me at jackie_jones_68@yahoo.com

DIY Fabric Flower Headbands

First, I would like to apologize for not being consistent with my posts!  I have been so busy with my wonderful Mommy's group, play dates, Hayden turning two and knitting that my blog has really been put on the back burner!  :(  I will try to keep it going as I have been getting a little nudge from a friend! ;) You know who you are Cristan!

So here is a post I've been wanting to get up for awhile now:

My friend Charisa coins herself "Blair Waldorf" (this is a Gossip Girl reference in case you are wondering) with all the headbands she wears so for her birthday I thought what better gift to make!?

I took a bandana I got from Dollar Tree and cut it into strips and made a fabric flower.  I have made these in the past here .  Basically you just wrap the fabric and hot glue as you go.
I wrapped a plastic headband with grosgrain ribbon in a coordinating color and hot glued the flowers on.

Then I cut a piece of felt in cream to hot glue onto the back of the flowers to help them stay attached better.

I found some gems to hot glue in the center from my stash of hair flower and little girl bow supplies.  For the teal one I actually cut up an old skirt that was in the "donate" pile and did the same process!  How is that for reusing something!?

Close up :-)

This box is made from scrapbook paper!

I really love how they both turned out! :)  Hopefully you enjoyed them too! :)

"Steelers Girl" and "Bacon & Eggs Skull & Crossbones"

My friend Maxine has a granddaughter being born and they are huge Pittsburgh Steelers fans.  She contacted me and said she wanted something girly but still obviously team proud! :-) Hopefully I did her justice with this little number.  I ordered the bow from fellow Etsy Shop owner Ribbons and Blossom's
and added it to the hat I hand knit.  Can't wait to see what the little angel looks like in her hat! :)
This is a "Paleo" hat special ordered.  It's for a special little boy my dad coined his "little boogie" at the crossfit gym up in Sacramento.  If you do Crossfit or know about the Paleo diet then you know the meaning behind it but it's something original!  I tried to find someone that would make me an embroidered patch but couldn't find anyone to do it.  So I bought some felt and gave it a whirl.  I searched blogs to see if anyone had done anything like it and came across Wee Folk Art's post with a tutorial on how to make bacon and egg play food out of felt.  It gave me the confidence that it could be done! Came out pretty good I think :)

Shark Knit Hat

Here is a hat I whipped up by request.  Apparently there is NOTHING on the web as far as a pattern so it was a bit of a challenge.  But now that I've done it I've gotten a little bit of interest I have a feeling I'll be doing it again soon.  When I do, I'll have to write up a free pattern and post it for you.  It will be my first ever pattern so I'm not sure It will be any good!?  In the meantime check out my chunky monkey wearing the shark hat I made with her "shark face" lol. So precious! These truly are some of the sweetest moments! :)  Love being a work at home mommy!!

The TP in the background is an oversight! LOL.  It's allergy season people!!

If you would like a custom knit hat please contact me through my Etsy shop or by email jackie_jones_68@yahoo.com
Thank you so much for looking! :)

My Monkey turned 2!

My amazing friend Cristan over at Coffe Cups and Crafts made these ADORABLE leg warmers for Hayden's 2nd birthday.  I cannot believe I have been slacking and haven't gotten the party pictures posted here yet! The theme was Rock Princess and these were supposed to go with her outfit but since I had her in a tutu and she shed that off to play it worked out better to have her in full leggings rather than leg warmers!  Look how cute she is though! LOVE them!!

Close up of the leg warmers

Love the action shots of her running! :)

Check out Cristan's blog if you haven't already!  She has a tutorial up on how she made these kind of leggings here :)  She also made a pair of zebra print ones.  I'll have to hog tie Monkey to get pictures of her in those too.  She is on ACTIVE 2 year old.  Keeps me moving thats for sure!

Cutest Spring Chicken or maybe Coconut Cupcake?

This hat was hand knitted for my shop by my amazing grandmother :-) I loved it and just wanted to share!  I sold it to my friend Kelly for her adorable daughter Mackenzie to wear for Easter! LOVE it! :)  She is the cutest spring chicken?  or coconut cream puff? or I can't decide what to call this hat!

Viking Hat Follow Up

My dad and step-mom Stacie came down to San Diego to visit for Monkey's 2nd Birthday party (pictures coming soon!) so I was able to give him the viking hat I knitted and blogged about some time ago!  Here is a picture of him wearing it!  Apparently he has been wearing it non-stop...even to the gym!  lol.  Only my crazy (and awesome) dad can pull this one off ;)

LOL :-)
